The Marq, Singapore 2022

A complete remodelling of an existing apartment to suit the client’s brief & requirement. It took 3 years to design and complete the home due to Covid & several unforeseen circumstances that was beyond us but we finally managed to complete the home and it’s one of Terre’s highlight of 2022.

Terre was task to create a pared down material palette of beige stucco, custom warm grey timber panelling & matt beige stone with accents of dark bronze elements throughout the entire interiors. We balance the design brief with highlights of dark timber works, lourved textures and special wall paper panels. All surfaces were clad to integrate services such as lightings, air con slots, access panels for that seamless finishes. This is apparent within the soaring double volumes space of the living and the gallery corridor that feeds out to all other spaces. The same material palette was developed and extended to all spaces including the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen & service areas.

A tea room with a tatami raised floor was created with access to a custom wine cellar in one of the original bedroom suite. This was at the clients’ request for their love of the traditions & the modern fine pleasures. It’s one of Terre’s favourite space as it’s perfumed with the scent of tatami.

We kept the base palette neutral and layered with a curated mix of decorative light fixtures from Apparatus Studio, Serip, Michael Anastassiades, Articolo & Viabizzuno to add that highlights when needed and complementing with architectural lightings to highlight architectural edges & surfaces.
